About
Hi, I’m Lydia Kimeli-Pope, PMHNP-BC.
We are here to help you grow your happiness and inner peace.
I’m a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner and integrative mental health provider who believes that healing starts with truly being seen—as a whole person with a story, a culture, a spirit, and a nervous system that has done its best to carry you through life.
I didn’t come to psychiatry through a straight line. My journey here was personal—and painful. After losing my mother, I experienced a grief so profound it pulled the ground out from under me. I stopped sleeping. I began having daily panic attacks. My laughter felt like betrayal. The world moved on, but I was stuck in a fog I couldn’t explain. At the time, I did what many of my patients do—I turned to traditional care. But what I got was dismissal. I was told my labs were “borderline,” that I didn’t need treatment. I was told to see a therapist and move on. But deep down, I knew something more was going on.
That was the moment everything changed.
Through my own journey of functional testing, holistic interventions, and deep self-inquiry, I discovered that healing was possible—but it had to be whole. It had to honor the interplay between body, mind, and spirit. It had to be collaborative. It had to feel like care. And it had to take into account the cultural and systemic experiences that shape how we show up in the world.
As someone who navigated the complexities of adapting to a new culture while holding onto my own roots, I understand the invisible weight that can come with feeling like you don’t fully belong anywhere or feel understood.
It’s what shapes the care I offer now. It’s care that I needed—so I became the provider I wish I
had.
Today, my practice is rooted in that understanding. I offer an integrative approach that blends conventional psychiatric expertise with lifestyle medicine, cultural insight, and spiritual presence. Whether I’m supporting a young adult struggling with anxiety and self-doubt, a child navigating behavioral challenges, or a mother on the edge of burnout, I meet each person with the respect, curiosity, and compassion they deserve.
Outside of the office, I’m a mother and a wife. Becoming a mother myself stretched me in ways I never anticipated, and gave me a new lens of compassion for parents who are doing their best. Dream Practice Academy
That compassion extends into the way I move through the world. My family is my anchor, and spending time with my five-year-old daughter and husband is my greatest joy. I also find peace in movement—whether it’s a run through the neighborhood, a long-distance ultramarathon, or a game of pickleball with new friends. My Swahili roots and African background are essential to
who I am, and I bring that cultural grounding into every session, ensuring each person I work with feels understood beyond a diagnostic label.
My patients describe me as intuitive, calm, and direct. I’m not afraid to ask hard questions, but I always listen first. I see therapy and psychiatry as a partnership—one where your goals lead, and I help build the bridge to get you there.
If you’ve tried everything and still feel stuck, if you’re longing for care that sees the full you, there is hope. And I’d be honored to walk this path with you.
