Hi, I’m Lydia Kimeli-Pope, PMHNP-BC.

Chief Practitioner
MSN-PMHNP

I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and integrative mental health provider who offers care rooted in lived experience, not just clinical training. My path to psychiatry was born from personal grief and spiritual upheaval—a journey that revealed the deep shortcomings of traditional, one-size-fits-all care. After losing my mother and facing anxiety that traditional systems dismissed, I turned inward: toward functional medicine, holistic healing, and the kind of compassionate, culturally aware care I now offer to others.

My training at Dream Practice Academy has emphasized real-world, practitioner-focused mental health leadership, free from outdated academic gatekeeping. Today, I bring a trauma-informed, whole-person

Who I Work With

Depression & Anxiety in Young Adults

Do you feel like you’re constantly battling a heaviness you can’t explain—pulling away from your friends, struggling to get out of bed, or losing interest in the things you used to love?

Maybe your mind races with self-doubt, or your body feels like it’s in shutdown. You’ve tried to push through. Maybe you’ve even tried therapy or medications, but nothing has really clicked. If you’re exhausted from pretending you’re okay and craving a plan that actually fits you, I can help.

Together, we’ll look beyond symptoms to uncover hormonal imbalances, lifestyle stressors, and unmet emotional needs—and we’ll craft a treatment plan that brings relief, resilience, and lasting change.

Childhood Anxiety, Depression, and Behavioral Challenges

Do you worry that your child is anxious, withdrawn, acting out, or falling behind—and you’re not sure where to turn?

Whether you’re seeing big emotional outbursts or quiet signs of distress, it can be hard to know what’s “normal” and what needs extra support. As a parent, you might feel helpless, burnt out, or overwhelmed by conflicting advice. I work with children ages 5–17, offering psychiatric care that includes family guidance, therapy, and medication when appropriate. I help kids build confidence and emotional regulation skills, while supporting you as the parent in feeling less alone and more equipped.

Irritability, Burnout, and Hormonal Imbalance in Women

Do you find yourself constantly overwhelmed, snapping at the people you love most, or wondering where the version of you who used to feel energized and steady has gone?

If you’re navigating perimenopause, new motherhood, or the invisible load of doing it all, you are not alone. These changes aren’t just in your head—they’re often rooted in real hormonal and physiological shifts. I offer targeted hormonal lab testing, nutritional support, and integrative care plans to help you feel more grounded, more rested, and more like yourself again.

Grief, Loss, and Major Life Transitions

Have you experienced a loss that changed everything, leaving you feeling numb, unmoored, or stuck in a fog you can’t shake?

Whether you’re grieving the death of a loved one, a role you once held, or the life you thought you’d have, grief can affect your mind, body, and spirit. I understand how all-consuming it can be, and I offer a compassionate, integrative approach that combines talk therapy, mind-body support, and gentle medication strategies when needed. You don’t have to carry this alone.

Cultural Identity, Immigration Stress, and Feeling Misunderstood

Do you feel caught between worlds—navigating the pressure to fit in while trying to stay true to your cultural roots?

For immigrants and first-generation individuals, mental health care often overlooks the impact of identity, language, and systemic oppression. I offer culturally sensitive, affirming care that acknowledges the whole of who you are. Our work together will hold space for all of your experiences—and help you build a path forward that feels true to you.
